- PLN (Professional Learning Network
- As a preservice teacher having access to a professional learning network can benefit in many ways. Twitter is one of the sites that can be used to broaden this, to give you access to new ideas. I have discussed many topics with other educators that have given me a new perspective on the classroom and changed my view towards my students. Having a PLN on twitter has helped me to grow as a person and educator. I will always have people to lean on for support and even ask for help. Even this website will let my PLN to grow through availability to the public and displaying my ideas to a future employer. The PLN assists me in being a teacher for the future and actively introducing me to the PLNs of others.

- All of these educators and education pages have been an incredible help on my development as a preservice teacher. Each person on this list has offered some type of guidance on my journey through the twitter chats and many assignments that I have had to do. Kristen Nan is a great example of this, she was there for one of the twitter chats and it helped me to not stress out over my responses. She helped me see that it was a good learning experience and that it would benefit me for the future. Kristen also helped me to see the benefit of being on twitter to grow my PLN. At first, I was skeptical of how twitter could help me with my knowledge of being an educator. I thought that it was a waste of time and that I wouldn't be able to learn anything. I was wrong, twitter helped me to see what I should and shouldn't do as a teacher in the classroom. R.J. Dula taught me the endless opportunities that go along with having a professional twitter account. His stories offered up a new perspective on the benefits of twitter and how I could connect with other people.

- Twitter Chats
- As a preservice teacher that was born into the age of technology I have always loved using twitter, but I knew hardly anything about the different uses of the social media site. When I did my first twitter chat I was completely overwhelmed with the pace of the chat and knowing what to say for each question. My first chat was #games4ed and I came into it knowing little information about the chat or how it is utilized in the classroom. I participated in it with a friend and having someone else there helped me to get through the chat without too much stress. Afterwards, I realized that it was amazing how many people participated and, how many different ideas everyone had. When I did a few more and utilized tweet deck, I loved them and became more acquainted with the people in them. Twitter chats are useful when you are struggling in the classroom, need ideas, or just need to acquire a little insight.
- After taking this class, I plan to utilize twitter and continue to update this website. As a teacher, it is important to grow your knowledge base and staying up to date with a twitter account. If a classroom is stagnant in their techniques, it then becomes less effective for the student and teacher. Also, without a growth in their knowledge the teacher will start to burn out, which leads to lack of the danielson framework in the classroom. In my classroom, I would like to include my contacts on twitter so that the students can communicate with other classrooms. Students can discuss their education and other hobbies that interest them. Students can learn from you, yourself having a PLN.
