In the fourth domain, included is the professional responsibilities of a teacher. It outlines the responsibilities of a teacher to the student, staff, and parents of the classroom. Also, their own responsibility to the community. There are six components to this domain that all pertain to the topic. The overall importance of this domain is to be an active teacher in your classroom and outside of it. Students and families should know what is going on during school hours and be a part of the process. This domain also exemplifies the importance of keeping track of your student's progress within the classroom so that you can keep the families up to date and as the teacher you can make sure your lessons are beneficial. As a professional educator this domain is important to keep in mind when evaluating how professional you should be with the students and families.
