In the classroom, there should always be new technology tools introduced to the students. One that is used in the classroom is called a digital breakout. What a digital breakout is used for is to engage students in a lesson with a fun and creative twist to it. New information can be studied through it and content that is learned which needs reviewed can be put into it. Digital breakouts are meant to be a challenging process where anyone can attempt to figure out a code to escape. For this technology tool, there can be other tools inputted within them to figure out the code. Digital breakouts can be useful for classrooms and to challenge the minds of everyone.
The digital breakouts fit into domain three of the danielson framework, which is instruction. A classroom that benefits from learning has different styles of instruction to engage the student, which goes along with element three of the domain. Digital breakouts do just that by engaging students through collaboration and challenging their knowledge. It could also go along with the fourth element, which is to utilize assessment within the lesson. Educators could pass this as a formative assessment because they are making an attempt to see the student's progress, and if they are grasping the information given. Digital breakouts engage the students through a fun activity like an anticipatory set and help them to change mindsets about learning.
In my future classroom, the digital breakout could be utilized to review for an upcoming test. Instead of students completing a study guide for the whole class period they could be up, out of their seats, applying their knowledge to the task at hand. It could also be utilized to have an activity to break up the day. If the teacher wants to a brain teaser in the morning he or she could have one to start out the day to increase their motivation. I would utilize this technology tool in my classroom because it is a way to motivate students to learn, maybe without them realizing it. I think of students that lack the motivation to write answers down to a study guide when they can be up out of their seat and collaborating with their peers. Digital breakouts are helpful for every classroom and the students that are included.
